Writing Camp 2–3: Mission PenPossible
In this spy-themed summer camp for students entering grades 2–3, campers will develop skills in creative writing, reading comprehension, phonics, and grammar. Our secret agents will put their critical thinking to the test as they crack codes, write secret messages, and even use spy gadgets like invisible ink during writing and reading workshops. In the end, they’ll have not only solved a puzzling mystery but also significantly boosted their writing endurance and independence, preparing them for lasting success in the academic year ahead.

Class Experience
In this spy-themed course for students entering grades 2–3, campers become secret agents as they solve mysteries, crack codes, and even use spy gadgets like invisible ink! Each day, students will study key phonics patterns to help them uncover a coded message. Then, they’ll put their decoding and comprehension skills to work by reading clues and solving a mystery. Class wraps up with a writing workshop where students craft their own spy reports and mission plans.
Throughout this fun and challenging course, students will explore:
- Punctuation and capitalization
- Word study, including prefixes and suffixes
- Grade-appropriate phonics patterns
- Procedural writing techniques and organization
The course culminates in an exciting exhibition, where students share their writing and put their mission plans to work in a final, action-packed challenge.
